What is the MaD Department?
The MaD Department is an internal department focused on making a difference in the lives of Keystone employees, clients, and the communities we serve. Its role is to connect personal passions with programs and experiences that help people grow, feel supported, and belong.
We design and coordinate initiatives around learning, wellness, recognition, social connection, and community outreach. The goal is simple: if it doesn’t help someone in a meaningful way, it doesn’t belong here.
How we made an impact

fed in 2 hours Open M’s Mountain of Food, October 2025 — Keystone volunteers helped pack cars and feed hungry members of our community alongside the Akron/Canton Regional Food Bank.

Programs offered to every Keystone employee
Making a difference isn’t a once-a-year event here. These programs put time, recognition, and company dollars behind the causes our people care about.
Give-Back Award
Every month, we celebrate Keystone employees who are making a difference in their own way, outside the walls of our office. Whether it’s volunteering at a local shelter, donating blood, or supporting a cause close to their heart — we want to know about it.
Each employee who submits a Give-Back entry shares what they did and why it mattered at our monthly Engineering Day meeting, and one winner is drawn for a small token of appreciation. It’s our way of saying: we see you, and what you do outside of work matters to us just as much as what you do inside it.
Volunteer Time Off
Time is one of the most valuable things you can give — so every team member gets a paid day each year to do exactly that. VTO lets employees step away from the workday to volunteer for a cause they care about, with no need to use personal time off. An afternoon at a food bank, a morning at an animal shelter, a day supporting kids in our community — that time is fully dedicated to making a difference, on us.
We also host two Corporate Volunteer Days each year, where a team of Keystone volunteers rolls up their sleeves for a shared cause we plan together with input from our own employees.
Employee Donation Matching
When our employees put their own money behind a cause they believe in, we help that impact go further. Through our donation matching program, Keystone matches qualifying employee contributions to approved charitable organizations — doubling the difference our team is already making in their communities.
It’s a simple way we put our values into action, alongside the people who live them every day.
A decade of making a difference
A few highlights from the MaD Department’s community outreach over the years.
Ring the Bell — Salvation Army
Every holiday season, Keystone teams head to the local grocery store and ring the bell for charity donations, making a difference for the families the Salvation Army serves.
Project North Pole — Domestic Violence Project, Inc.
Each Christmas, we sponsor families staying at DVPI of Canton — shopping for their Christmas lists and wrapping every gift so families rebuilding after domestic violence can experience a normal holiday.
Karting for a Cause — Benefitting Ears to You
We hosted a charity GoKart race at High Voltage Karting in Medina, with donations and proceeds going to charity. To cap off a wonderful evening… we won.
The MaD Department gets official
Newly formed with a laser-focused intention, we hit the ground running: an iCan Housing donation race that filled six boxes for their Drop-In Center, a Technology Scavenger Hunt for local high schoolers at the Foundry, and donations to the Medina Juvenile Detention Center and 2nd Baptist Church.
Leading from the front
We installed a capstone green-energy solar array on the Foundry building, joined Main Street Medina’s advisory board, donated $1,000 to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park Conservancy, and packed cars at Open M’s Mountain of Food.
Boots on the ground
Keystone employees walked in the Great Akron Heart Walk, cleaned up the Happy Tree Farm Trail in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, returned to Mountain of Food, and hosted “How Small Businesses Can Use AI” with Main Street Medina.
And we’re just getting started
This year we’re back at the Great Akron Heart Walk and supporting ICAN Housing with a volunteer clean-up day at Arbor Ridge Apartments in North Canton — tree-trimming, mulching, and yard work to make the community shine for residents.
